HOT STONE MASSAGE
Hot stone massage is a thermotherapy technique combined with manual massage. It uses basalt volcanic stones heated to a controlled temperature to promote deep muscle relaxation and improved circulation.
It helps reduce muscle tension, enhance mobility, and support nervous system regulation.
How does it work?
The controlled application of heat produces:
Local vasodilation
Increased blood flow
Improved oxygen supply to the tissues
Reduced muscle tone
Decreased joint stiffness
The stones are placed on specific areas (back, lumbar region, cervical area, etc.) and are also used as tools to perform slow, deep massage techniques.
The increase in temperature allows the muscular tissue to be treated with less resistance and greater effectiveness.
Beyond relaxation, the purpose is to:
• Reduce deep-seated tension
• Support muscle recovery
• Improve overall functionality
It is an effective tool within a structured therapeutic approach.
A prior assessment is always carried out before the session.
Indications:
• Muscle contractures
• Muscular overload
• Physical and mental stress
• General stiffness
• Cervical and lower back discomfort
• Muscle fatigue
Contraindications:
Not recommended in cases of:
• Acute inflammatory processes
• Fever
• Severe circulatory disorders
• Thrombosis
• Severe sensory impairment
• High-risk pregnancy (subject to assessment)
